Admiralty: FAQ:
In admiralty matters, which laws apply to my case?
Which laws apply to a given matter is determined by many factors. In the maritime sector, those factors include, but are not limited to, home country of the flagged vessel, location of the parties, location of the cargo or incident, and the nature of the matter. Panama law applies exclusively to some areas of the law, such as collisions, which occur in territorial waters. International laws often apply to people and matters within a particular region or waters, but overall, each country has different laws.
