Sanitary Registry of Hygiene Products necessary to prevent COVID-19 is excepted

After evaluating the world’s current situation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, the National Directorate of Pharmacies and Drugs has authorized, through Resolution No. 187 of March 17th, 2020, the importation of hygiene products to establishments that hold an approved operation license issued by this institution, as long as the following documentation is presented with a duly notarized affidavit, properly signed by the legal representative of the company:

  • Product formula.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices of the Manufacturer or ISO certification.
  • Product name.
  • Commercial presentation.
  • Manufacturer and country of origin.
  • Quantity to be imported.
  • Product batch.

Hygiene products to be imported will be exempt from the payment of the service fee, for sixty (60) business days as from March 17th, 2020.

Once the request has been submitted, the National Directorate of Pharmacies and Drugs will evaluate it to determine if the product can be used to prevent COVID-19, thus allowing its access to the population.
