Notice concerning the European Union’s
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

 

Your Personal Data

An individual’s Personal Data consists of information about a living natural person who can be identified from that data (For Example: Name, Address, ID and so on). Such identification can be performed by the information alone or together with other information in the firm’s possession or which the firm is likely to come into such possession. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

 

Who are we?

Quijano & Associates is the data controller. This means that Quijano & Associates decides how your personal data is processed and for which purposes.

 

How do we process your personal data?

Quijano & Associates had adopted the proper organization, the systems and the policies, as well and the required staff to comply with the necessary requirements for the protection of our clients’ personal data and we are pleased to confirm that our firm is already fully prepared to comply all of the stipulations of the GDPR by keeping any personal data updated; by storing and destroying it securely; by abstaining from collecting or retaining any excessive amount of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access and disclosure and by ensuring that all appropriate technical measures are in place and working properly at all times to protect personal data.

 

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

Operations: We use the information to operate, maintain, enhance and provide all of the features of our Services, and to provide such services and such information as you may request, as well as to respond to your comments and questions and to provide the proper support to our Services.

Communications:  we may use your e-mail address or other personal data in order to contact you for administrative purposes such as Customer Service, updates of new regulations in jurisdictions associated with our Services, promotions and events and other services offered by us. In addition, you have the ability to “opt-out” of receiving any informative or promotional communications as described below under “Consent”.

Improvements: We use the information to improve our Services and to develop new products, services, features and functionality in our IT Systems.

Compliance: we may use your personal data to get information from different Information databases about your Compliance status, so than we may always be sure that the Client complies with the requirements of the regulators of the different jurisdictions where we provide services.

 

Sharing your personal data

Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will be shared only with regulatory entities for compliance requirements and with government entities related to legal procedures. Only with your prior specific and express consent would Quijano & Associates share your data with a third party.

 

How long do we keep your personal data?

We keep your personal data for no longer than the reasonably necessary time, a period of 10 years in order to comply with our compliance and security regulations and in the event of legal claims or complaints.

 

Your rights and your personal data

Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which Quijano & Associates holds about you;
  • The right to request Quijano & Associates to correct any personal data if it is inaccurate or out of date;
  • The right to request that your personal data be erased when it is no longer required that Quijano & Associates retain such data;
  • In the event of any dispute concerning the accuracy or the processing of your personal data, the right to request that any further processing be restricted.
  • The right to object to the processing of personal data (whenever applicable)
  • The right to lodge a complaint before the GDPR Supervisory Authority assigned to your country of origin or jurisdiction by the EU.

 

Further Processing

Should we ever deem convenient or wish to use your personal data for a new purpose other than the ones covered by this Notice about the enactment of the General Data Protection Regulation, we shall proceed to send you a new notice explaining this new use and the purpose thereof before taking any step to begin such use clearly expressing the reasons and the purposes, as well as the processing conditions. We shall not act or proceed to do anything related to such new processing without your prior specific and express consent.
